Emeritus Faculty Organization sponsors The Hinkle Lecture

April 11, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

The 2024 Hinkle Lecturer is Dr. John Showalter, Penn State College of Medicine alumnus and the first American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) fellowship-prepared physician in the nation to achieve board certification in clinical informatics. Dr. Showalter’s talk will address the future of health care informatics and analytics, including issues related to artificial intelligence in medicine.

Each year the Emeritus Faculty Organization sponsors The Hinkle Lecture honoring Samuel F. Hinkle, the former officer of the M.S. Hershey Foundation whose gracious foresight and influence resulted in the 1963 grant to establish the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. The Hinkle Lecture provides a forum for the presentation of contemporary issues in medicine by well-known clinicians and basic science researchers.
