Free Hernia Screenings – Lancaster

April 25, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Free

Over 5 million people in the U.S. have hernias each year. Hernias happen when part of an internal organ of tissue bulges through a weak area of muscle. Symptoms are nausea, groin pain or a bulge in the abdomen or groin area. While millions of people have hernias, only about 15% get medical treatment.

Penn State Health is offering free 15-minute, private hernia screenings with minimally invasive surgeon, Dr. Parth Sharma. In addition to advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, Dr. Sharma specializes in surgical weight loss, minimally invasive surgical repair of paraesophageal and hiatal hernias, abdominal wall and groin hernia repair, surgical treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, gallbladder surgery and complex upper gastrointestinal surgery.

Registration

Registration is required. Call to schedule a screening appointment: 223-202-7001.

If surgery is recommended, patients will be offered a standard appointment as the next step.
