Event Series Event Series: I-Corps Short Course

I-Corps Short Course

June 13, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

The I-Corps program is a 5-week short course that offers a methodology to identify the commercial potential of your technology. During the course, participating research teams will learn how to explore product-market fit, talk to customers, gain insight from experienced business leaders and build a business case for translation of the technology.

This program is for faculty, clinicians, staff and students with biomedical innovations or ideas who are interested in learning more about the process of customer discovery and how it can improve their research and accelerate translation into practice. We are also seeking individuals looking to join existing teams in support roles. Participants should be able to commit to attending all class sessions and office hours throughout the course.

The course includes topics of biomedical research commercialization, using the scientific method to test potential commercial pathways and how to build a compelling business case. The Business Model Canvas guides participants through hypothesis testing as they identify key customers and refine the commercial market for the technology.

I-Corps is hosted by the Penn State Center for Medical Innovation in partnership with Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
