This session is organized by the Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and is part of the Experiential Learning Series.  These sessions focus on excellent patient care and a respectful, inclusive workplace. They explore the implications of diverse cultures, faiths and creeds on culturally responsive care, highlighting the best practices in serving diverse patients. Sessions are offered at 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The session will center on serving Immigrant patients: Who Are They and Why It Matters.

During this discussion you will learn:

• Recognize who is an immigrant and who is a refugee
• Identify major issues facing immigrants and refugees
• Learn action steps to better serve immigrants and refugees
