Women’s History Month Celebration
March 25, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Dr. Simoyan will share her journey as a woman physician and her path to writing, followed by a Q&A. She will also talk about her upcoming book on women in medicine. The book is still in the works and will be released soon.
Penn State College of Medicine Office of Diversity, Equity and Belonging presents Dr. Olapeju Simoyan, a physician, author, musician, photographer and College of Medicine alum.
Olapeju Simoyan, MD, MPH, BDS, FAAFP, DFASAM, FAMWA – “The Doctor Writer and Doctor Singer” – is a Renaissance professional, combining expertise in dentistry, public health, family medicine and addiction medicine. With a degree in medicine, dentistry and public health, along with fellowships in the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Society of Addiction Medicine, she is a leader in holistic care.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Simoyan expresses herself through writing, music, and photography, blending science, art, and compassionate care. She currently practices addiction medicine and is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Drexel University College of Medicine, with board certifications in addiction medicine and family medicine.
Simoyan will share her journey as a woman physician and her path to writing, followed by a Q&A. She will also bring copies of her soon to be released book on women in medicine.
