College of Medicine awards promotion and tenure to faculty members

Penn State College of Medicine announced promotions and/or the award of tenure for 43 faculty members, effective July 1.

Top College of Medicine graduate students honored for accomplishments

Dr. Craig Hillemeier, dean, CEO and senior vice president for health affairs, presented eight awards to 12 graduate students in recognition of outstanding achievement during the annual Dean's Graduation Awards Ceremony on May 19.

Penn State College of Medicine holds 48th annual commencement

Penn State College of Medicine conferred degrees upon 145 medical students, 78 graduate students and 28 physician assistants at its 48th annual commencement ceremony.

The 2018 Outstanding Collaborative Research Award was presented to a team from Penn State Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science. Leadership Academy offers training for faculty, providers and staff

Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine employees, faculty and physicians who are interested in leadership positions, have previous leadership experience, and have the support of their supervisor or chair can submit applications for the Leadership Academy now through June 1.

Dr. Michael Green, professor and interim chair of Penn State College of Medicine's Department of Humanities, discussed how reading and creating comics helps students with practical doctoring skills during a panel discussion March 1 at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Md.

Dr. Richard Courtney was a distinguished professor and chair of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Penn State College of Medicine from 1991 to 2012. Dr. Richard Courtney, former chair of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Distinguished Educator and Professor Emeritus, passed away April 11, 2018, following a brief battle with esophageal cancer.
