College of Medicine helps raise awareness of veteran suicides through Pushup Challenge
An estimated 22 veterans are lost to suicide daily in the United States.
This sobering fact prompted the Association of American Medical Colleges and Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences to raise awareness by encouraging medical schools across the country to participate in the 22 Pushup Challenge.
During the week of Sept. 16, 2019, dozens of faculty, staff and students at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey and University Park accepted the challenge, and each completed 22 pushups.
