And the winner of Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine’s inaugural ugly sweater contest is…

Interim Dean Dr. Kevin Black!
Thank you to the nearly 4,000 faculty, staff and students who voted in the contest. The race was close – Dr. Black’s goofy elf sweater that concealed atrocious Ohio State attire garnered 52% of the vote. That means CEO Steve Massini and his wife, Shari, must pony up a $1,000 donation to Penn State College of Medicine’s Global Health Program.
But wait – Dr. Black and his wife, Maria Hamilton, have pledged to match Steve’s donation.
That’s great news for Global Health, because $2,000 can go a long way toward changing lives in some of the most challenging regions in our world. If you want to learn about one of the programs – Global Health Scholars – here’s a short video that highlights medical students’ work in the Western African nation of Ghana.
Thank you to the many individuals who shared their greetings in the holiday video. 2019’s contest is officially in the books, but word has it that Steve and Kevin have been seen combing the clearance racks in anticipation of a rematch in 2020.
