Be ready for any emergency: Update your contact information in Penn State Health Alerts Everbridge system

The Penn State Health Alerts emergency notification system notifies all Penn State Health and College of Medicine employees, faculty and students about urgent and emergent events that may impact the organization. Emergencies that may cause significant disruption to our work can occur at any time.  It is critically important that everyone update their preferred contact information in the emergency notification system so they can be notified of any urgent or emergent news to help maintain business continuity, wherever they are.

Powered by the Everbridge platform, Penn State Health Alerts can be used to notify staff of severe weather, Information Services and power outages, missing infant or children alerts and workplace violence. Additionally, if an event affects the health system’s ability to use traditional internal communications, the alerts may provide an alternative way to communicate critical information with employees. The emergency notification system enables instant communication via phone, email, text messaging, mobile app and other channels.

All employees, faculty and students are automatically enrolled in Penn State Health Alerts when they join the health system or College of Medicine, and their work or student email address listed in the Unified Directory is entered into the system. However, in order to reach employees wherever they are, whether at work or not, it is critically important for everyone to provide additional contact information to the Penn State Health Alerts system.

Those who don’t wish to enter their personal contact information should install the Everbridge mobile app. See step-by-step instructions on how to set it up.

Penn State Health St. Joseph

Penn State Health St. Joseph uses a different module of Everbridge than the rest of the system. Employees should send their managers their updated contact information, which will then be shared with the hospital’s emergency management team to update within the Everbridge system.
