Cady recognized with Excellence in Enhancing Diversity and Inclusion Award
Janet Cady, a certified registered nurse practitioner and lung cancer screening program manager at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, is the May 2025 recipient of the Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award.
Cady established Penn State Health’s Advanced Practice Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, which brings advanced practice providers across the health system together to discuss challenges and access educational resources. She launched an annual series of Grand Rounds focused on diversity, equity and inclusion for advanced practice providers.
She also created a quarterly journal club centered on diversity, equity and inclusion where participants can share information freely and confidentially.
A champion for all advanced practice providers across Penn State Health, Cady served as cochair of Penn State Health’s Advanced Practice Advisory Board and has mentored new advanced practice providers.
Cady, who joined Penn State Health in 2020, is dedicated to improving the experience for all patients, families and employees of Penn State Health.
She identified her hidden heroes as the members of the Advanced Practice Advisory Board’s Diversity Subcommittee and the Department of Medicine’s Diversity Council. She appreciates their tireless but often unseen efforts.
