Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, a time to recognize Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who are making an impact in health care and beyond.
This year’s theme is “A Legacy of Leadership and Resilience.” Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine will celebrate with the following events:
Culturally inspired meals
Enjoy cuisine inspired by Asia and the Pacific Islands each Wednesday in May at Hampden Medical Center, Holy Spirit Medical Center, Lancaster Medical Center, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute and St. Joseph Medical Center.
AAPI Heritage Month trivia
Complete this AAPI Heritage Month trivia challenge by Thursday, May 1 to earn a chance to win a $25 gift card to a local hot pot Korean barbecue restaurant. Three employees will be selected at random.
Community event
Join the Lancaster AAPI Association and Penn State Health Multicultural Business Employee Research Group (BERG) at an art exhibit and live food demonstration featuring popular street food from across Asia:
- Friday, May 2
- 6 p.m.
- The Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster
Nominate a trailblazer
Penn State Health will recognize employees of Asian or Pacific Islander descent who are trailblazers within the health system and the community. Send your nomination to diversity@pennstatehealth.psu.edu by Monday, May 5. Award recipients will be announced in May.
