Penn State research presented at Texas A&M during industry advisory board meeting
A project by a Penn State PhD student and two Penn State College of Medicine MD/PhD students was part of a series of presentations held at Texas A&M University on April 12 and 13, 2018.
Texas A&M hosted the 2018 Spring Industry Advisory Board meeting, and 11 attendees from Penn State Center for Health Organization Transformation (CHOT) – including industry members, guests and researchers – attended.
Penn State PhD student Christian Lopez was invited to present his project, An unsupervised machine learning method for discovering patient cluster based on genetic signatures. This project is in collaboration with Penn State College of Medicine MD/PhD students Scott Tucker and Tarik Salameh.
Students from other CHOT university sites presented topics including population health, care coordination, access to care, analytics and innovative technologies, and patient experience. IAB members provided feedback and voted on projects of interest. CHOT industry guests had the opportunity to observe and experience the industry-university collaborative process. Penn State CHOT had guests from two organizations present: Dr. Jerome Jourquin from the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Chace Caruso and Hansel Akers from CloudMine.
