College of Medicine Pandemic Response for Feb. 18

This Week’s Updates
Faculty, Staff and Students Can Now Share Booster Shot Information
College of Medicine faculty and staff who have received their booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine are strongly encouraged to share that information with the University by uploading an image of their Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card into Penn State’s Salesforce Health Cloud, a secure online platform for collecting and storing health data.
At this time, the University is not requiring students to share their booster shot information with University Health Services, although students are strongly encouraged to do so. Students who have received their booster shot can upload their vaccination records through myUHS. The process is similar to the one used by students to share proof of being fully vaccinated.
Individuals who have their booster shot on record with the University are not required to quarantine if they are identified as a close contact of someone who tests positive for COVID-19.
Faculty and Student Travel
Penn State has established comprehensive guidance for both personal and University-affiliated travel during the COVID-19 pandemic. In general, prior approval is not required for faculty and students wishing to travel domestically for any University-affiliated or University-sponsored purpose. Similarly, international travel for University-affiliated purposes is now permitted without prior approval from the dean, so long as travel funds come from already-approved sources. Students and faculty traveling internationally are required to register with the Travel Safety Network at least 30 days in advance of the start of travel. The expectation is that all travelers will comply with guidelines for COVID-19 safety, including appropriate masking and physical distancing, while traveling and at their destination.
