College of Medicine Pandemic Response Friday Round-Up – Week of May 17-21

College of Medicine leaders updated faculty, staff and students on May 21 about the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic:

All College of Medicine Updates

Social media accounts with College of Medicine branding must follow Penn State Health masking, social distancing policies

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s new guidance that fully vaccinated individuals no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance does not apply to the College of Medicine or Penn State Health and is not intended for health care facilities.

College of Medicine and Penn State Health departments that have social media accounts with health system or College/University branding are prohibited from sharing content that violates university and health system policy, including photos of people who are not wearing masks. Social media posts that go against masking safety practices send unintended messages about safety at the College of Medicine.
