College of Medicine Pandemic Response highlights COVID-19 vaccinations

College of Medicine leaders updated faculty, staff and students on Oct. 29 about COVID-19 vaccinations.
This Week’s Updates:
Start Uploading Proof of Vaccination in Two Locations
Because of challenges in transferring employee vaccination records from multiple systems used to administer the COVID vaccines across the enterprise, all employees’ vaccination status will need to be uploaded in two locations – Salesforce Health Cloud and ReadySet.
Penn State is using Salesforce Health Cloud, a secure online platform for collecting health data. Note: Use Penn State ID (@psu.edu).
In addition, it is critically important that the health system have access to information about employee and student vaccination status that are on the same campus. Penn State Health is using a different system called ReadySet. (Note: Use PennStateHealthID@pennstatehealth.psu.edu).
Lost your vaccination card?
Individuals who were vaccinated in Pennsylvania and have misplaced their vaccination card can visit the Pennsylvania Department of Health website for information on how to obtain vaccine evidence. Individuals who were vaccinated in another state and need vaccine verification information can call the local vaccine provider who administered the vaccine or contact the state health department.
Individuals with vaccine records from locations other than the United States will need to submit official vaccination documentation of U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) emergency-use-authorization-approved vaccines in the United States or international vaccines that are emergency-use-listing-approved by the World Health Organization. Documentation needs to include all dates and specifics for each COVID-19 vaccine dose. All records must be in English.
College of Medicine Employees and Students Qualify for Booster Shots
There have been a number of inquiries concerning COVID-19 booster shots so we wanted to take a moment to provide important information regarding the COVID-19 booster shots, including eligibility and availability.
The CDC has approved booster shots for health care workers, which includes all College of Medicine employees and students, who meet the following criteria:
- Pfizer or Moderna vaccines – Received their vaccinations six months or more after their initial series.
- Johnson & Johnson vaccines – Received the vaccination two months or more after their initial vaccine.
The FDA has authorized the use of a heterologous — “mix and match” — booster dose for all three currently available COVID‐19 vaccines. If you received any of the three vaccines, you can get a booster shot of either the Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
If you have received your COVID-19 vaccination and are eligible for a booster based on the timeframes above, the following links will provide scheduling opportunities for you.
Penn State Health locations (includes Hershey Medical Center, Holy Spirit Medical Center, Hampden Medical Center and St. Joseph Medical Center)
Other locations in the area can be found by visiting vaccines.gov. Many locations are offering same-day appointments or appointments within 24-72 hours.
Penn State Health is encouraging those who meet current eligibility criteria for booster shots or third doses to register and schedule online at vaccine-scheduler.pennstatehealth.org or by calling a central scheduling number: 1-844-774-8883. You may also visit vaccine.gov to find other locations offering the vaccine.
