Dedicated vaccination sites close for Memorial Day weekend, consolidate and reduce hours effective June 1

Penn State Health’s dedicated vaccination sites in Berks, Cumberland and Dauphin counties will be closed Saturday, May 29, through Monday, May 31 for the Memorial Day holiday. Additionally, due to a significant drop in public demand for vaccinations, the health system will consolidate its vaccination sites and reduce the times that they are open.

The dedicated vaccination site in Cumberland County, located on the Holy Spirit Medical Center campus, will stop scheduling of first-dose vaccinations Friday, May 7, and second-dose vaccinations Thursday, June 3. Any first dose appointments already scheduled will be honored at the site through June 3. Patients will be scheduled for their second dose appointment at a different site after that date.

Beginning Tuesday, June 1, the health system will reduce hours and open days at its two other dedicated vaccination sites:

Berks County, 2400 Bernville Road, Reading:

  • Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Saturdays, 8 a.m.-noon

Dauphin County, 30 E. Granada Ave. #200, Hershey:

  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Thursdays, 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
  • Saturdays, 8 a.m.-noon

Both the Berks and Dauphin county sites will continue to offer appointments for youth ages 16 and 17 to receive the Pfizer vaccine. If the vaccine receives emergency use authorization for 12- to 15-year-olds, those sites will be able to accommodate that age group as well.

Penn State Health will continue to host pop-up vaccination site across Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon and Lancaster counties, and asks our providers and staff to continue to support these events. Click here to see dates, times and positions needed for upcoming pop-up vaccination clinics.
