Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism members celebrate Manni’s 40th anniversary at HMC, COM
The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the Department of Medicine held a surprise party to celebrate Dr. Andrea Manni’s 40th anniversary at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine. Manni is a professor of medicine as well as the division chief, who joined the College of Medicine faculty in 1982.
The party was proposed to Manni as an endocrinology wellness event to keep it as a surprise, said Dr. Nazia Raja-Khan, division representative for the Department of Medicine’s Employee Program to Optimize Wellness, Exercise and Relationships (EmPOWER) initiative.
Raja-Khan kicked off the event by welcoming everyone to the University Conference Center and asking a few trivia questions about the history of Hershey Medical Center. Then she revealed the surprise to Manni: that the event was organized in his honor. Members of the division congratulated Manni with cards and gifts to mark his 40th anniversary. Attendees were also treated to boxed lunches.
Raja-Khan shared her thanks to all members of the division who attended the event and helped to make it special for Manni, sending an extra thank-you to administrative associate Lisa Doster and administrative secretary Carol Creter for helping to organize the gathering.
