Employees, dependents can take advantage of Penn State Health Dermatology telehealth visits

Penn State Health employees and dependents who battle skin conditions can access telehealth visits with the experts at Penn State Health Dermatology using the Penn State Health OnDemand app.

The app allows employees and their dependents to:

  • Schedule, change or cancel a dermatology appointment online, without making a phone call.
  • Have a scheduled appointment via video chat with a Penn State Health dermatologist using a smartphone, tablet or computer.
  • Upload in-focus photos of their condition prior to the visit to help ensure an accurate diagnosis.

“Most patients can be diagnosed and treated through a telehealth visit,” says Dr. Brian Green of Penn State Health Dermatology. “If an in-person follow-up appointment is needed, we can accommodate that within a few days of the patient’s telehealth visit.”

The practice offers same-day telehealth visits whenever possible. Dermatology providers also accommodate early-morning and evening telehealth appointments. No referral is needed. Telehealth appointment co-pays and deductibles are similar to those of an in-person visit.

Download the free Penn State Health OnDemand app to get started. People already registered for Penn State Health OnDemand should enter the service key PSHDERM to access the dermatology schedule. New users should enter PSHDERM as they register.

See instructions on how to install the app and prepare for a telehealth visit.
