Forbes places Penn State Health among best employers for diversity for third year
Penn State Health was among 34 hospitals and health systems to make Forbes’ third annual list of the “Best Employers for Diversity.”
Penn State Health ranked 106th out of the 500 employers that made the national listing. That’s up from 127 last year and 194 the year prior.
Lynette Chappell-Williams, chief diversity officer and associate dean of diversity, equity and inclusion for Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine, said inclusion on Forbes’ list reflects the institution’s commitment to creating a respectful work environment for all employees.
“Our continual rise in Forbes’ annual ranking year after year shows we are dedicated to establishing an inclusive workplace,” Chappell-Williams said. “We know from research that a commitment to diversity and inclusion enhances our financial performance and patient experience as well as employee engagement. As a result, we will continue to make strides in advancing our commitment.”
Forbes selects its “Best Employers for Diversity” from the results of a survey of 60,000 U.S. employees working for companies that employ at least 1,000 people within the United States.
