Residency director Hameed honored for excellence in psychiatry education

Penn State Health Psychiatry Residency director Ahmed Hameed, MD, was recently honored by the American Psychiatric Association and its Council on Medical Education and Lifelong Learning.

Hameed was selected as a recipient of the 2019-2020 Irma Bland, MD, Certificate of Excellence in Teaching Residents. The award recognizes outstanding and sustaining contributions made by a faculty member. It is given in honor of the late Irma Bland, MD, and serves as a tribute to her unique and creative contributions to psychiatric education.

Hameed is an associate professor and the vice chair for education in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Penn State Health/Penn State College of Medicine.
