Hershey Medical Center Employee Health COVID Call center closes weekends starting April 3
The Hershey Medical Center Employee Health COVID Call Center will close on weekends beginning Saturday, April 3.
If symptomatic, critical employees of Hershey Medical Center or Shared Services or one or more of their symptomatic housemates require testing during the weekend, they must:
- Notify the house manager to obtain approval for designation as a critical staff member. The house manager will call the testing site at 717-531-0003 x322117 and provide employee’s name, date of birth and phone number.
- If they are deemed critical (scheduled to work in the next 48 hours), use the Penn State Health OnDemand App: Employee Coronavirus Screening for Critical Employees and Housemates Module by entering the service key, PSHECS, and following the prompts to obtain an order for testing.
- If they not scheduled to work in the next 48 hours, call the COVID Call Center at 717-531-4208 on Monday.
Upon receipt of order, Hershey Medical Center will test the employee at:
- 35 Hope Drive – 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Call 717-531-5539 upon arrival.
- Hershey Medical Center North Lobby – 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. Appointment times for this location are provided by the OnDemand App screener.
Symptomatic employees must quarantine until they obtain test results. Employees with symptomatic housemates are not required to quarantine if they have received their final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least two weeks ago or if they were previously diagnosed with COVID-19 and their isolation period ended less than six months ago.
Test results will be available on the patient portal. The swabber will provide instructions on how to access the portal or the employee may go to access it here. Critical employee test results will be sent to the house manager/Employee Health group via Tiger Text and will be available to the employee via the patient portal.
All weekend messages left at 717-531-4208 during weekend hours will be retrieved and responded to on Monday.
