Hillemeier, Faulkner retirement celebrations June 5

All Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine employees, faculty and students are invited to attend a retirement celebration for two longtime leaders on Wednesday, June 5.

Dr. Craig Hillemeier, dean of Penn State College of Medicine, chief executive officer of Penn State Health and senior vice president for health affairs at Penn State, and R. Mark Faulkner, general counsel of Penn State Health, both announced plans to retire later this year. Hillemeier served Penn State for nearly 20 years. Faulkner began providing legal services to Penn State in 1976.

Hillemeier joined Penn State in 2001 as chair of pediatrics at the College of Medicine and medical director of Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. He served as interim executive director of the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in 2006 and subsequently became vice dean for clinical affairs at the Medical Center. He also served as director and chief operating officer of Penn State Health Medical Group from its inception in 2008.

In 1980, Faulkner began his work for Hershey Medical Center, which continued when he became associate general counsel of the University on May 1, 2010.

The celebration event is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. at the Rotunda Café. Light refreshments will be served.
