PTO/Vacation Donation

Seven employees have been approved for the primary Paid Time Off (PTO)/Vacation Donation program:

Employees interested in donating their Primary PTO hours may do so by going to mySolutions, searching “PTO Donation” (log-in may be required) and submitting it electronically.

Go for the Greens

The Penn State Nittany Lion joined students from Ebenezer Elementary School in Lebanon on March 26 for Go for the Greens, an event that promoted the importance of vegetables and healthy eating. Penn State PRO Wellness arranged for the appearance with the support of Kohl’s Cares. Earlier in March, staff from PRO Wellness offered 19 elementary schools enrolled in the Building Healthy Lebanon Schools program with kits to start their own vegetable gardens at school. Neuroscience Nurses Association

Sandra Brettler, clinical nurse specialist for the Department of Neurosurgery at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, recently began as president of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses. She previously served on the board of directors as secretary/treasurer, director-at-large and chapter facilitator.

Blue/Green Day

Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center highlights the importance of organ donation on Blue/Green Day:

  • Friday, April 12
  • Noon-2 p.m.
  • Biomedical Research Building courtyard

People are encouraged to wear blue and green and share photos using the hashtag #pennstatehealthbluegreen. Former transplant patients Bill Griffis and Miranda Feliz Garcia will also share their stories.

Egg Scramble

The Hershey Miracle Family and Friends Egg Scramble will raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network:

  • Saturday, April 13
  • Gates open at 9 a.m.
  • Hershey Park Stadium, 100 W. Hersheypark Drive, Hershey
  • $5 donation per child

Postoperative Complications

Dr. Scott Armen, professor of surgery and neurosurgery at the College of Medicine, will host a lecture entitled “Postoperative Complications”:

Economics Talk

John Liechty, professor of marketing and statistics at the Penn State Smeal College of Business, will present a TED-style talk, “If I had a Hedge Fund, I Would Cure Diabetes: An Economic Solution to Marx’s Critique of Capitalism”:
