New Chief Financial Officer

Paula Tinch will join Penn State Health as senior vice president and chief financial officer on June 3. She will step into the role currently held by Steve Massini, who will become the chief executive officer for Penn State Health following the retirement of current CEO Dr. A. Craig Hillemeier early this summer. Tinch will be responsible for managing the health system’s finances, including financial planning, management of financial risks, revenue cycle, treasury and financial reporting. Most recently, she served Rochester Regional Health in upstate New York as senior vice president of finance.

Employees must submit performance goals by May 8

All Penn State Health employees must submit 2019 performance goals to Human Capital Management by May 8. Goals should be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and include a time element. French to speak on Patient Experience

Spinal cord injury survivor Jake French will give a discussion about “Innovative Strategies to Improve Patient Experience”:

  • Noon-1 p.m.
  • Junker Auditorium

The event is part of Patient Experience Grand Rounds. From 2 to 3 p.m., French will host a hands-on workshop demonstrating new strategies to improve patient experiences.

“Transplanting Hope”

Penn State Health doctors will discuss the latest treatments in transplant surgery, including real patient stories, on abc27’s “Transplanting Hope”:

Managing Student Loan Debt

William Lindsey, Pennsylvania school services manager from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, will host a conversation about how to best manage student loan debt:

Centerview Garage Maintenance

Crews will apply a wear-coat to the top deck of the Centerview Parking Garage starting today. To minimize the number of parking spaces lost, they will apply the coat in seven phases over the next two to three weeks. Each phase will take two to three days to complete. Traffic cones will guide drivers to where they can park. Call 717-531-8010 with questions.

Emergency Department Expansion Crane Lift

Construction crews will raise a crane, complete work and disassemble it at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center on Friday, April 26. The crane will arrive at 7 a.m. and complete its work by 7 p.m. Pedestrian traffic in the Penn State Cancer Institute bridge will be stopped while the crane loads pass over the area. No other areas of the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center will be affected.
