Drug Take-Back Day Nets Nearly 600 Pounds of Medications

A prescription-drug take-back event April 27 at three Penn State Health locations took in 595.1 pounds of medications and more than 26 sharps. The event, which involved police departments in Derry, East Hempfield and North Londonderry townships, was one of several nationwide coordinated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. Drive-through drop-off locations were at the Academic Support Building on the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center campus, Penn State Health Medical Group — Lime Spring and Penn State Health Medical Group — Palmyra.

PTO/Vacation Donation

Two employees have been approved for the primary Paid Time Off (PTO)/Vacation Donation program:

Employees interested in donating their Primary PTO hours may do so by going to mySolutions, searching “PTO Donation” (log-in may be required) and submitting it electronically.

Employees Must Submit Performance Goals by May 8

All Penn State Health employees are required to submit 2019 performance goals to Human Capital Management by May 8. Goals should be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and include a time element. All goals must be entered into the system and approved by a manager. For instructions, visit mySolutions. Smith elected President of Biomedical Graduate Admissions Professionals

Kristin Smith, director of graduate admissions at Penn State College of Medicine, was elected president of BioGAP, the biomedical chapter of NAGAP: The Association for Graduate Enrollment Management. Starting May 1, Smith will lead an international network of enrollment management professionals in biomedical-related research programs. During her term, she hopes to double the number of participating institutions, improve the organization’s web presence and lead the launch of several recruiting initiatives for member institutions including the key areas of diversity and disability.

Penn State Health’s United Way Committee will host the first food truck festival of the spring season:

Centerview Parking Garage Stairwells to Close
