Pulse/Lawson Upgrade

Pulse/Lawson’s scheduled maintenance will update the system and add more capacity to its online tools. During the maintenance, all Pulse/Lawson systems and data will be completely inaccessible, and all reporting processes will be paused. It begins at 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 10 and continues until 5 a.m., Monday, April 15. Visit mysolutions to learn more about what will change and a complete listing of operational support contacts to have on hand.

Grants Available

The Penn State Association of Faculty and Friends is offering grants of up to $10,000 to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine employees to help fund their programs. The association’s mission is to support medical education, research, clinical care and scholarship. Visual Trauma and Empathy

Art Historian and Curator Rachel O’Connor will discuss how visual expression of physical trauma can inform medical practitioners and help foster empathy in a talk entitled “Visual Trauma and Empathy”:

Research Methods Seminar

Nilam Ram, professor of human development and family study, will present “Analysis of Experience Sampling and Ecological Momentary Assessment Data: Part 3: Using Differential Equation and Data Mining Algorithms”:

Egg Scramble

The Hershey Miracle Family and Friends Egg Scramble will raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network:

  • $5 donation per child

SMaRT Training

A new program is available to all levels of research support faculty and staff to help them navigate the research process at Penn State College of Medicine. The Staffing, Mentorship and Research Training (SMaRT) Program for investigator-initiated, human-subjects research will be introduced at an informational session:

John Liechty, professor of marketing and statistics at the Penn State Smeal College of Business, will present a TED-style talk, “If I had a Hedge Fund, I Would Cure Diabetes: An Economic Solution to Marx’s Critique of Capitalism”:
