Compliance Training

All Penn State Health employees must complete their 2019 annual compliance training before March 29. The online Compass training ensures that employees understand the key legal, ethical and policy aspects of patient care and the importance of accurate billing.

BeWell Grant Program

Penn State Health’s BeWell Grant Program, supported by Human Resources, will provide pilot-project funding for staff to develop and implement activities that encourage wellness and prevent burnout. Applications are welcome from anyone or any unit within the network. Review the guidelines and submit an application here. For more information, email bewell@pennstatehealth.psu.edu.

‘Heart to Heart’

Experts from Penn State Heart and Vascular Institute will present the latest advances in heart failure treatment on “Heart to Heart,” a live call-in show on abc27:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 27
  • 7:30-8 p.m.

Patients share their stories of receiving a left ventricular assist device and a heart transplant. Viewers can email questions to questions@abc27.com or call 717-346-3333 starting at 7 p.m. Cardiologist Dr. Howard Eisen will preview the stories on “Good Day PA” at 10 a.m.

Masquerade Gala

Penn State College of Medicine’s Pride and Disability Advocacy and Awareness group will host its 2019 Masquerade Gala:

Abuse Lecture

The Learner Diversity Lunch Lecture Series will host a session entitled “Caring for Female and Child Patients Who Have Experienced Abuse”:

The talk is facilitated by Mamie Walton, shelter supervisor at Shalom House in Harrisburg.

‘Follow Your Heart’

The Kienle Drama Group will present a staged reading of “Follow Your Heart,” by Dr. Richard Selzer:

The play examines the ethics surrounding grief and organ transplantation. Members of the cardiac transplant team will lead an audience discussion after the reading.
