Engagement Survey Closes June 24

Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine employees are providing feedback about the organization by taking the 2019 Employee Engagement survey. The survey launched on June 3 and will close on June 24.  Employees should check their email for the invitation from Press Ganey and use their Penn State Health or Penn State College of Medicine ID number to access the survey. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.  Employees who did not receive an email can get help by contacting the Press Ganey client support desk at hdesk@pressganey.com or 1-800-849-2292.

Tracy Listed Among 100 ‘Chief Medical Officers to Know’

Dr. Thomas Tracy Jr., chief medical officer at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, was listed among Becker’s Healthcare’s “100 hospital and health system chief medical officers to know in 2019.” The list includes “physician leaders dedicated to strengthening their organizations through leadership development, patient safety initiatives, health IT and quality improvement.”

PTO/Vacation Donation

The following employees have been approved for the primary Paid Time Off (PTO)/Vacation Donation Program:

  • Jasmine Allen, Emergency Department
  • Melinda Bates, 3rd Floor Women’s Health

Employees interested in donating their Primary PTO hours may do so by going to mySolutions, search “PTO Donation” (log-in may be required) and submit it electronically.

Ross to Appear on ‘Smart Talk’

Dr. Stephen Ross, a staff physician in the Department of Neurology, will appear on “Smart Talk” on WITF-FM to discuss headaches:

Thrive Fit Fest 2019

Penn State Health will host Thrive Fit Fest 2019, central Pennsylvania’s only fitness festival:

  • Saturday, June 22
  • 7:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Capital City Airport, 210 Airport Road, New Cumberland
  • Free tickets here

The event offers latest workout regimens, classes and workshops. Tim Card, the first chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy patient at Penn State Cancer Institute, will discuss how his dedication to fitness helped him when he was faced with a cancer diagnosis.

Bike and Blend

Celebrate National Smoothie Day by pedaling an exercise bike to make your own free smoothie:

  • Friday, June 21
  • 1-3:30 p.m. (while supplies last)
  • College of Medicine entrance

The event is free and sponsored by Penn State LionPulse and Penn State PRO Wellness.
