The accreditation means that the program meets rigorous national standards for patient assessment procedures, drug interaction monitoring, timeliness of therapy delivery and other measures of quality and safety.
Community Health Needs Assessment Focuses Efforts
Penn State Health’s 2019-2022 Community Health Needs Assessment and Implementation Plan identified the most significant needs in a five-county region as behavioral health, healthy lifestyles and disease management. Overarching concerns that impact community health are access to care and the social determinants of health in Penn State Health’s population base. The report and implementation plans will be used to focus health system resources in Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster and Lebanon counties for the next three years. Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center and Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute collaborated on the assessment and implementation plan.
