PTO/Vacation Donation
Four employees have been approved for the primary Paid Time Off (PTO)/Vacation Donation Program:

- Michelle Connatser-Moyer, Human Resources
Employees interested in donating their Primary PTO hours may do so by going to mySolutions, search “PTO Donation” (log-in may be required) and submit it electronically.
Compliance Training
All Penn State Health employees must complete their 2019 annual compliance training before March 29. The online Compass training ensures that employees understand the key legal, ethical and policy aspects of patient care and the importance of accurate billing.
BeWell Grant Program
Penn State Health’s BeWell Grant Program, supported by Human Resources, will provide pilot-project funding for staff to develop and implement activities that encourage wellness and prevent burnout. Applications are welcome from anyone or any unit within the network. Review the guidelines and submit an application here. For more information, email bewell@pennstatehealth.psu.edu.

Safety Behaviors and Error Prevention
Penn State Health celebrates National Patient Safety Awareness Week with a talk by Dr. Margaret Mikula, vice president and chief quality officer for Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State Health Medical Group, on “Safety Behaviors and Error Prevention”:

Patient Safety Grand Rounds
Patient Safety Grand Rounds presents “To Err Is Human,” a patient-safety documentary:

- Junker Auditorium
A panel discussion on patient safety at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center will follow the film. Movie theater-style refreshments will be served. American Medical Association Physician’s Recognition Award Category 1 credit is available for participating in the panel discussion.
National Bone Marrow Registry
Hershey Medical Center employees are asked to bring their mobile devices to register with the National Bone Marrow Registry:

Can’t attend? Text CURE44 to 6174 or go to the website Join.BeTheMatch.org/CURE44. Adults ages 18-41 can register for free starting until the end of September. Adults ages 42-61 can still register but will need to pay a small tax-deductible fee.
Children’s Hospitals Week
Children’s Miracle Network Hershey is celebrating Children’s Hospitals Week March 18-24. Employees are invited to show their support by wearing a bandage and writing the name of a child who has been helped by Penn State Health Children’s Hospital on it. Take a photo and share it on social media with the hashtags #CMNHershey and #ChildrensHospitalsWeek. Donate at www.CMNHershey.org/CHW19.
