Compliance Training Closes Tomorrow
All Penn State Health employees must complete their 2019 annual compliance training by tomorrow, March 29. The online Compass training ensures that employees understand the key legal, ethical and policy aspects of patient care and the importance of accurate billing.

“Thyroid Cancer – A Matter of Facts”
Penn State Health doctors will discuss the region’s history of thyroid cancer and the latest treatments for it on abc27’s “Thyroid Cancer — A Matter of Facts”:
- Today
- 7:30-8 p.m.
- Taking calls at 717-346-3333 from 7-8 p.m.

Dr. David Goldenberg will talk about a family who conquered thyroid cancer together. He’ll also discuss his research on Three Mile Island, the nuclear power plant where a partial meltdown occurred on March 28, 1979. Dr. Neerav Goyal and Dr. Brian Saunders will answer patients’ questions live during the program. Goldenberg will appear on “Good Day PA” at 10 a.m. to promote the 7:30 p.m. show.
Coffee with Doctors
In honor of National Doctors’ Day, Penn State Health is inviting community members to have a free cup of coffee with providers from the network:
- Saturday, March 30
- 8-10 a.m.
- Three locations:
- Cornerstone Coffeehouse, 2133 Market Street, Camp Hill: Dr. Ann Bogdan and Josh Lebo, both of Penn State Health Medical Group – Mechanicsburg
- Grand Central Bagel Café, 245 Centerville Road, Lancaster: Dr. Lindsay Lafferty, Family and Community Medicine
- Red Canoe General Store and Coffee Bar, 2701 Horseshoe Pike, Palmyra: Dr. George Henning, Penn State Health Medical Group – Palmyra, and Dr. Andrew Lutzkanin, Penn State Health Medical Group – Middletown
Patients with a story to share about Penn State Health doctors are asked to submit them to the Facebook page @pennsthershey. The stories will be shared with doctors on March 30.
Donate Life Flag Raising
The Transplant Surgery team will raise a Donate Life flag to kick off National Donate Life Month, which serves to educate and encourage people to become organ donors:
- Wednesday, April 3
- 2 p.m.
- Flagpoles in front of the Crescent at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center
The Nittany Lion will be on hand to help kick off the event, and cupcakes will be available.
Egg Scramble
The Hershey Miracle Family and Friends Egg Scramble will raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network:
- Saturday, April 13
- Gates open at 9 a.m.
- Hershey Park Stadium, 100 W. Hersheypark Drive, Hershey
- $5 donation per child
