Drug Take-Back 

Penn State Health’s two community Drive-Thru Prescription Drug Take-Back events on Oct. 27 yielded 347 pounds of unwanted medication and 11 large containers of needles and syringes. The events took place at Penn State Health Medical Group – Palmyra and the Academic Support Building in Hershey. 

PTO/Vacation Donation

Fitness Challenge

The Fitness Challenge for Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine continues through Dec. 31. Participants are challenged to accumulate 150 minutes or more of exercise every week. They can do any type of exercise they prefer and should use the MapMyFitness app to track their progress. Contact Sarah Hartman or John Drop, both University Fitness Center exercise physiologists.

Nightingale Awards

Aislynn Moyer, director of ambulatory nursing at Hershey Medical Center, was selected as a finalist in the Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania’s “Nursing Administration – Executive” category on Oct. 26. She was one of 27 statewide finalists in 10 award categories. The statewide philanthropic organization works to create, cultivate and support environments where professional nursing achievements are valued.

“Good Day PA!” will feature three elements of Penn State Health’s telehealth program – virtual ICU with Dr. Randy Young, the tele-ALS program with Dr. Zachary Simmons and the Penn State Health OnDemand app with Chris LaCoe, vice president of operations for Hershey Medical Center:

Lift the Mask

The Doctors Kienle Center for Humanistic Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry will present a free film about mental health and suicide prevention with the Hershey We Matter Coalition:

  • “Lift the Mask: Portraits of Life with Mental Illness”

After the screening, people who are featured in the film, the Quell Foundation president and Penn State Health experts on mental health will participate in a panel discussion and question-and-answer session. Register on Eventbrite.

Dr. Paul Haidet, an internist at Hershey Medical Center, will present on unconscious bias in the Hershey Area “All Things Diversity” series:
