In case you missed it: Watch replay of Sept. 21 Penn State Health town hall

Steve Massini, Penn State Health chief executive officer, announced at the Sept. 21 Penn State Health town hall that the health system achieved its fiscal year 2021 organizational goals. The goals focus on quality and safety, patient experience, employee engagement and financial performance. He also shared an overview of the 2022 organizational goals.

To recognize the outstanding accomplishments of its workforce over the past fiscal year, most Penn State Health employees will receive an organizational bonus on Friday, Oct. 22.
Massini also highlighted the progress of its new medical centers, Hampden Medical Center on the West Shore — opening Friday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. — and Lancaster Medical Center, under construction in East Hempfield Township and scheduled to open in fall 2022.
Much of the town hall focused on the surge of COVID-19 cases at Penn State Health hospitals and efforts to mitigate the spread. While they await final regulations on the executive order mandating vaccinations, Penn State Health leaders announced that they continue to provide first-dose vaccination clinics for employees across the health system. Additionally, Employee Health and Penn State Health Medical Group are preparing for flu and COVID booster shots.
During the latter half of the town hall, leaders answered staff questions on topics ranging from the surge of the delta variant, whether COVID-19 vaccinations will be required and when booster shots may be available. Additionally, Massini addressed concerns about the backlog of unpaid vendor invoices. Employees should address concerns to the appropriate Accounts Payable representative as detailed here.
More than 2,000 employees attended the virtual town hall.
