MD/PhD student honored by Korean American Scientists and Engineers Association

Sa Do “John” Kang, MD/PhD student

Sa Do “John” Kang, a fourth-year medical student in Penn State College of Medicine’s MD/PhD Medical Scientist Training Program, received a scholarship award from the Korean American Scientists and Engineers Association.

Kang was honored for his thesis and his work in the lab of Craig Meyers, MS, PhD.

Kang is completing his last year of medical school training before entering the match in internal medicine in a research pathway.

He is from Seoul, Korea, and earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Duke in 2012 and his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the College of Medicine in 2019.
