Jones recognized with Excellence in Enhancing Diversity and Inclusion Award

Jamie Jones, a registered nurse in labor and delivery at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, is the September 2025 recipient of the Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award.

Jones has been a driving force in the LGBTQ+ and Allies Business Employees Resource Group (BERG) since 2023, consistently advocating for the LGBTQ+ community. She collaborates with BERG members to share their ideas and concerns with health system leaders. She is dedicated to ensuring that the BERG schedules events and other activities that make everyone seen and heard.

As a nurse, Jones shows empathy, compassion and a calm demeanor. She listens calmly to concerns or questions, then answers honestly and helps find thoughtful solutions. She displays the RITE values while interacting with BERG members and caring for patients of all backgrounds.

Jones’ confidence in serving LGBTQ+ community members has increased since becoming a BERG leader. She is respectful, dedicated and leads with integrity that instills trust in others. She shows courage by bringing up difficult issues and starting conversations with leaders to represent BERG members.

In the local community, Jones is active at LGBTQ+ Pride events. She constantly seeks to learn more about diverse backgrounds and cultures, enhancing her ability to support staff, patients and visitors at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Jones selected Bradley Mikitko, an MRI technologist at Penn State Health Lime Spring Outpatient Center, as her hidden hero. Jones says she truly couldn’t do the work without him.
