Lancaster Medical Center honors staff during Hospital and Health System Week

Lancaster Medical Center held its second annual “Extraordinary 12” Excellence Awards celebration and Hospital and Health System Week reception on May 14. The awards were presented by Claire Mooney, senior vice president and chief operating officer, and Barbara Zuppa, vice president and chief nursing officer:

The Excellence Award for Extraordinary Clinical Nurse

Cheryl Bealer, wound ostomy continence nurse

The Rising Star Award

Heather Boerger, greeter, Patient Relations

The Excellence Award for Extraordinary Technologist

Alicia Lepera, hemodialysis technician, dialysis

The Provider Collaboration Award

Dr. Vasudev Virparia, interventional cardiologist

The Excellence Award for Extraordinary Innovation

Sunshine Moua, unit care ambassador, Emergency Department

Following the awards presentations, winning names were drawn for the basket raffle sales. More than $2,700 was raised to support local charities.

Lancaster Medical Center celebrated employees throughout the week with activities and events including blessing of the hands, pet therapy sessions, popcorn and coffee bars, an ice cream cart, food trucks and a scavenger hunt.
