Mail order pharmacy employee program tips and tricks

The Hershey Medical Center Employee Preferred Prescription Drug Plan and Employee Maintenance Mail Order Pharmacy are convenient, low-cost services available to employees with Highmark insurance coverage. Employees who wish to take advantage of the mail order program should review the following pharmacy guidelines.
Getting started
- New employees or first-time users must complete the Employee Mail Order Prescription Form. The form can be delivered to the secure prescription drop-off box outside the University Physician Center (UPC) Outpatient Pharmacy (Suite 1200, Entrance 4) or faxed to 717-531-3909.
- The form must be signed to approve the storage of the employee’s credit card information.
- Using the Employee Mail Order Pharmacy is a cost-saving benefit. In fact, employees can receive a three-month supply of medication for the price of just two months (a 33% savings).
- Click here to access the Highmark Formulary.
Ordering
- If requesting a 90-day chronic or maintenance prescription, employees should ask their provider to select “PSHMC Mail Employee 90 Day.” Secure prescription drop-off boxes are located at 30 Hope Drive, Entrance B, Suite 1005 or UPC Pharmacy, Entrance 4, Suite 1200, University Physicians Center. Faxed prescriptions will not be accepted.
- Controlled substance prescriptions should be prescribed electronically by the provider. A 90-day quantity of a narcotic prescription can be filled if it is requested by your physician (doctor of medicine [MD] or doctor of osteopathic medicine [DO]).
Delivery
- Prescriptions through the Mail Order Pharmacy will be mailed to the employee’s home address within 7 to 10 business days of the request. A 30-day prescription should be obtained from the UPC Pharmacy if a rush is required on the order.
- Notify the pharmacy of an address change.
- Schedule II controlled substance prescriptions are sent via certified mail. A signature is required upon delivery.
Payment
- Payment is due at the time of service. Packages will not be mailed without payment.
- Flexible spending accounts can be used for payment.
Refills
- An automated phone system is available for refill requests. Employees can also download the RefillPro mobile application, which allows users to order refills, store information and access directions on a smartphone or tablet. Connect to the pharmacy with the phone number for the pharmacy that handles the prescription:
