A student in the MD/PhD Medical Scientist Training Program at Penn State College of Medicine was featured recently in an episode of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute‘s Engage podcast.

The episode highlights Brianna Evans, a third-year MD/PhD student and a scholar in the institute’s Translational Research Training Program.

Evans is pursuing her PhD in biomedical sciences and currently works in Dr. Patricia “Sue” Grigson-Kennedy‘s lab examining imaging models in rat brains as part of addiction research. Evans will return to medical school after completing her PhD.

In addition to her training, Evans serves in a variety of leadership roles, including a diversity pipeline project that aims to help underrepresented students prepare for the MCATs, a requirement for medical school admission.
