New Penn State Health Cancer Center at Hampden Medical Center will expand access to comprehensive cancer care

Penn State Health’s strategic journey is focused on enhancing patient access and experience and integrating and standardizing all services. In keeping with this critical work, the Penn State Health Board of Directors has approved a plan to build the Penn State Health Cancer Center at Hampden Medical Center.

This project aligns with the system’s objective to create a unified, integrated network of cancer services that are geographically distributed across the communities we serve. An expert team of specialty trained oncology physicians and care teams will offer a wide range of cancer services at Hampden Medical Center.

The goal is to ensure patients have access to exceptional, compassionate, timely oncology services within their home community, comfortable in knowing that advanced care for complex cases—including clinical trials—is just 30 minutes away at our academic medical center hub. This multi-disciplinary approach will be the standard for providing comprehensive patient-centered cancer care.

Work at the site will begin in the next few months.
