Nursing Career Development Fair helps nurses take career to new heights

Both current nurses interested in opportunities for advancement and students who are ready to launch their nursing careers are invited to the Nursing Career Development Fair:

Wednesday, Sept. 18
4-9 p.m.
Penn State Health Children’s Hospital ― Treehouse Café

The Department of Nursing at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is sponsoring the event, which features information ranging from learning and leadership development to benefits, retirement and caring for the caregiver.

“Our goals are to build up our nurses professionally and expose them to areas of nursing outside their scope,” said Rob Boesch, vice president of nursing, surgical services, at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. “If people find it valuable, we plan to make it an annual event.”

Nurses can meet Nursing Department leaders at the Speed Dating/Shark Tank area. Other activities include an Escape Room, Meditation Room and the PRO Wellness smoothie bike. The Nittany Lion will also be on hand, and refreshments will be served.

The Nursing Career Development Fair is aimed at registered nurses and licensed practical nurses who currently work at Hershey Medical Center and in the academic practice division of Penn State Health Medical Group. Contact April Adley, vice president of nursing, for more information.
