Penn State alumna, five-time cancer survivor helps others
As a student at Penn State in the early 2000s, Erin Weidemann was pursuing degrees in both journalism and Spanish. She was also a standout first baseman on the Nittany Lion softball team, hitting at a clip that would eventually land her in the record books.
In her junior year, Weidemann felt a small lump on the left side of her neck. That began her journey into life with cancer, which she has now survived five times.
Erin and her husband, Brent — who is also a Penn State graduate with a degree in history — have devoted their lives to helping young girls through their “Bible Belles” book series, geared toward showing girls that “real beauty is not what the world says it is.”
In addition, Erin conducts speaking engagements and hosts a podcast to inspire girls around the world. That cancer curveball? She hit it out of the park.
