Penn State College of Medicine benefits open enrollment launches Nov. 1

The College of Medicine’s 2023 Benefits Open Enrollment will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 1, and run through Friday, Nov. 18. Penn State Human Resources has created the Penn State 2023 Benefits Open Enrollment website to help employees make informed decisions about their benefit elections.

Live campus meeting and webinars

Human Resources has partnered with representatives from Highmark Blue Shield to conduct live presentations at every Commonwealth campus this year. For the full meeting schedule, including in-person and Zoom sessions for the College of Medicine, visit the Penn State 2023 Benefits Open Enrollment website. For employees who may not be able to attend a live presentation, webinars are on the schedule, and an on-demand version will be available by mid-October.

Benefits Mentor

The Benefits Mentor is a tool designed to help employees determine which health care plan may be the best for them and their families. This confidential, third-party vendor decision support tool can help employees save money by comparing their employee premium contributions and out-of-pocket expenses for both the Lion Traditional and Lion Advantage plans. This provides a clearer picture of which plan might be the best financial option, assuming the employee’s 2023 health care expenses are similar to those of the previous year.
