Penn State Health 2020 Benefits Open Enrollment sees strong participation

The Penn State Health Human Resources Benefits Team would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s Benefits Open Enrollment season and helped to make it a success. The process is a very important part of your employment life, and we appreciate the time and effort you committed to ensuring your benefits were set up for 2020.
Here are some key stats from this year’s Open Enrollment:
- 6,533 employees enrolled for health care and other benefits.
- The Human Resources Solution Center served 2,275 employees between Oct. 21 and Nov. 6 and supported more than 1,500 benefits and open enrollment-related calls through the HR online support center, mySolutions, and the live solution support center.
- Wellness Fairs – employees submitted 289 raffle entries at the Hershey campus wellness fair and 135 entries at the St. Joseph campus wellness fair. Congratulations to the winners!
- Virtual Benefits Fair – Employees increasingly prefer to receive information through web-based and digital content. It’s mobile-friendly, easily accessible and digestible on the go. This year’s Virtual Benefits Fair had 1,916 unique users with a total of 13,073 content views. The most popular content were the plan grids and Benefits Guides. The Virtual Benefits Fair remains open throughout 2020.

Friendly reminders
- All employees who are enrolled in a medical plan for 2020 will receive new insurance cards in December.
- Employees who currently participate in a flexible spending account have until March 31, 2020, to submit any expenses incurred in 2019.
