Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine surpass 2021 total for United Way

Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine employees have pledged over $471,000 for the 2022 United Way campaign, 97.1% of its goal of $485,000. Pledges continue to be tallied, so the final total will be announced in December. The money raised will go to each donor’s local United Way agency.
A majority of contributions came from pledges and donations, but employees also enjoyed giving through some fun activities, such as Stuff the Bus, a book sale, a wine tasting and concert at Cassel Vineyards and food truck lunches. Employees also lent a hand at six nonprofit organizations in Harrisburg, Hershey and Elizabethtown on the Day of Caring, Sept. 9.

It is an honor to see our Penn State Health and College of Medicine employees go above and beyond each year to demonstrate their tremendous spirit of giving,” said Jim George, United Way campaign chair and Penn State Health director of community relations.
These results mean that more of our neighbors will receive access to health care, employment assistance, school readiness tools and basic needs. Thank you to everyone who gave and helped make this important work happen.
