Penn State Health appoints two new virtual health leaders

Penn State Health welcomed two new members to its virtual health leadership team:

Dr. Sprague (Will) Hazard, an anesthesiologist and critical care medicine physician specializing in neuro critical care, is the new medical director for the TeleICU.

Virtual Intensive Care Unit services allow for remote management of critically ill patients by intensivists, critical care nurses and advanced practice clinicians in hospitals that have incomplete or no direct access to these services. In this new role, Hazard will serve as the administrative physician leader for TeleICU services, responsible for daily physician management and oversight, recruitment and retention of TeleICU providers and strategic program growth.

Tammy Talys, a registered nurse, is the new director of virtual care operations. She will lead day-to-day operations for all virtual care services, providing management oversight, program development, reporting of quality metrics and development of future use cases for telehealth initiatives.
