Penn State Health, College of Medicine celebrate Pride Month

June is Pride Month, a time for Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine to honor the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) and related communities, the diversity of identities and the fight for equal rights around the world.

Pride Month is an opportunity to remember the successes of LGBTQ+ people and the injustices they’ve overcome, while also honoring their continued efforts to make the world a safe place for every person to be their authentic selves.

Upcoming Pride events in our area include:

Lancaster Pride Festival

  • Saturday, June 15
  • Noon–7 p.m.
  • Lancaster County Convention Center, Center and Vine Streets, Lancaster

Pride Festival of Central PA

  • Saturday, July 27
  • 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Soldiers’ Grove, 531 Commonwealth Ave., Harrisburg

Employees and faculty can also celebrate Pride Month by downloading and using a virtual background from the Digital StoreFront and exploring resources on the use of personal pronouns.
