Penn State Health earns top score as a 2025 Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion

Penn State Health has been named a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion by earning a top score of 100 on the 2025 Disability Index. This marks the third consecutive year the health system has received a top score.
The Disability Index is an independent, third-party resource that benchmarks organizational policies and programs supporting inclusion of people with disabilities in the workforce. It provides measurable actions that promote accessibility, inclusion and equality. The index was created in collaboration with Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities.
“This recognition emphasizes Penn State Health’s commitment to creating a workplace culture that values and supports all employees,” said Ipalla Cooke, Penn State Health’s director of workforce analytics.
The Disability Index tool measures criteria for disability inclusion in:
- Culture and leadership
- Enterprise-wide access
- Employment practices, including benefits, recruitment, employment, education, retention, advancement and accommodations
- Community engagement
- Supplier chain and accessible procurement practices
Companies are scored on a scale of 0 to 100. Organizations scoring 80 or higher earn the distinction of Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion for that year.
The 2025 index survey received more than 650 submissions from companies and organizations in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Japan and the Philippines.
