Phase one of new Infonet launches Oct. 27

The first phase of a new Penn State Health Infonet site designed to improve the user experience will launch Tuesday, Oct. 27. The interim site will have one landing page that allows all Penn State Health and College of Medicine employees to easily access the Infonet sites of any entity.

Users will not need to log in to the landing page but will need to log in with their user name and password to access the following:

  • Hershey Medical Center/College of Medicine Infonet site
  • Penn State Health Medical Group Infonet site
  • Shared Services departments
  • Tools such as Kronos and Compass

The following applications will all have the same log-in, which means that once users log in to any of them, they will not need to do so for the others:

  • Pulse/Lawson
  • ServiceNow
  • mySolutions
  • XM
  • Mediasite

The Information Services team is actively working to add more applications that allow for a single sign-on. Kronos is scheduled to transition to a single sign-on by Dec. 31.

The changes are a necessary step as the health system and the College of Medicine prepare to migrate to a new Infonet site in 2021.

“The biggest benefits our employees will see when the final Infonet site launches next year are the ability to customize the content they see and an improved search function,” said Jerry Griffin, director of consumer insights and digital engagement. “Everyone will be able to identify the content that’s most important to them, such as a page they visit frequently, and add the link directly to their home page.”

The new Infonet will also feature a search tool that is similar to the current Hershey Medical Center public website. This will improve users’ ability to search for key content.
