Registration open for networking session about research interviewing tips

“Research interviews and focus group best practices” will be presented at the next SMaRT Connects session taking place 1 to 2 p.m. Feb. 20 in Room C2860 at Penn State College of Medicine.

Heather Stuckey, MEd, DEd will present ways to conduct focus groups for qualitative research more effectively. She will discuss creating effective interview guides to collect rich data. She will also share facilitation techniques, such as redirecting and elaborating, in an interactive role-play session. Stuckey is an associate professor of medicine, public health sciences and humanities.

SMaRT Connects supports human subjects research professionals through timely College of Medicine research process information, professional development and networking. At each session, attendees learn the latest tips, techniques, policies and procedures from subject matter experts who facilitate discussion, answer questions and provide guidance.

Penn State College of Medicine’s Staffing, Mentorship and Research Training (SMaRT) Program facilitates the navigation of College of Medicine resources for researchers and research support staff.
