Spirit Halloween, Child Life make magical combination
A hospital stay can be a scary experience for children. Spirit of Children is making hospital stays more pleasant for kids and their families by raising funds to support Child Life programs at hospitals in local communities, including Penn State Health Children’s Hospital.

One way Spirit of Children raises funds is through its 10-for-10 Coupon campaign. Employees are invited to bring the coupon to their local Spirit Halloween store between now and Wednesday, Oct. 31 to help benefit Children’s Hospital patients. They will receive 10 percent off their entire purchase and, in return, Spirit Halloween will make a matching donation equal to the amount they saved. The coupon is available at engage.pennstatehealth.org/childlife.
Spirit of Children raised a record-breaking $70,434 in 2017 to support the Child Life Program at the Children’s Hospital, bringing its total support for the program to $369,000 since 2010. This year, Spirit of Halloween’s overall fundraising goal is $9 million to support 140 partner hospitals nationwide.
